Parenting After Deconstruction
A Guided Cohort for Parents and Guardians Reimagining Faith
You want to raise kind, curious, spiritually grounded kids, but you’re still figuring out what that looks like. This four-week cohort offers a thoughtful space to explore how we talk to kids about God, faith, and love, without fear, shame, or old scripts.
WE HEAR THE QUESTIONS YOU'RE ASKING
“I KNOW WHAT I DON'T BELIEVE—BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT I DO BELIEVE”
“Do I have permission to talk about God without talking about sin or hell?”
“I want to raise a good human... but I’m not sure if Christianity is the path.”
“What books, Bibles, or resources actually reflect the God I want my kid to know?”
This isn’t a how-to guide, it’s a supportive space to wonder together.
Zippee Kids was created for moments like this, the ones where you’re rethinking what faith means and how to talk about it with your kids. This cohort isn't about giving you the answers. It's about offering thoughtful support while you ask real questions. You'll be met with care and reminded that you're not alone on the journey.
Grounded in Care, Not Fear: Each conversation is designed to center love, not shame, giving you a framework for faith that feels safe, expansive, and emotionally honest.
Created for Curious Grown-Ups: You don’t need perfect answers to show up. This cohort meets you where you are, with room for questions, doubt, and everything in between.
Rooted in Meaningful Tradition: We explore the wisdom and history behind faith practices while giving you the freedom to reshape them for your own family’s context.
Equipped with Gentle Tools: From a community space to reflection prompts and weekly rituals, you’ll leave with practical ways to engage your kid’s spiritual life without theology that no longer fits.
4-week Cohort
What We’ll Explore Together
This isn’t a class where you’re told what to believe—it’s a space to reflect, process, and reimagine. Each week includes a live guided conversation, thoughtful prompts, and resources to support you as you figure out what faith could look like for your family. You’ll be alongside others navigating similar terrain, with room for your story and pace.
Week 1
Telling Your Story
This week we reflect on telling your faith journey and create the community safety that's necessary for conversations to follow.
Week 2
Naming What We’ve Let Go
Using Kathy Escobars model of deconstruction, we'll locate if you are in deconstruction, severing, or reimagining.
Week 3
Talking with Kids About God
We’ll explore how childhood brain development affects spiritual language and look at ways to have age-appropriate conversations that make room for wonder, honesty, and emotional safety.
Week 4
Reimagining Rituals and Practices
You’ll leave with tools, resource recommendations, and a sense of what’s next, not just in what you teach your kids, but in how you stay supported yourself. You’re not alone.

“As a parent and pastor, I know how disorienting it can feel to want better for your kid but not know what that looks like. I created this cohort to be the space I wish I had when I started asking new questions. It’s gentle, spacious, and rooted in the belief that you don’t have to have it all figured out to show up with love and intention.”

Don’t just take our word for it—pastors, parents, and caregivers are finding new ways to nurture faith with honesty, imagination, and joy. Here's what they’re sharing.
“I loved this class as a space to connect with other parents who struggle to know how to talk about their faith with their kids. I don't know much, but I do know I want my kids to grow up with an understanding that faith happens in community. It was so helpful to connect, ask questions, and learn from others who are hoping to create authentic connections with their kids around the topic of faith.”

“Are you looking to navigate liminal faith seasons in a way that won't harm or disillusion your child (or your inner child!)? Sarah's course is my go-to. Are you on the hunt for curriculum that instills in your kids a sense of wonder, trust and contemplation? Sarah wrote that. Her work is both deeply researched and refreshingly accessible...I'm so thankful for her unique contribution - both in the church at large and in the small circles of God's kin-dom that we serve together.”

“The Parenting After Deconstruction class gave me so many tools for sharing my faith with my kid in healthy ways. It's given me the confidence boost I needed to be able to lean into the hard questions with the same curiosity that my kid has, instead of just deflecting or avoiding them.”
